This is the last weekend to see Bob Carl’s Art Show. It will be on display until July 13th. Be sure to make plans to visit and immerse yourself in this captivating collection.

Starting July 19th, we are excited to present a “Pop-Up” exhibition showcasing the stunning photography of Jo Ann Campbell, titled “Alaska.”

JoAnn Campbell, a Photographer, Tug Boat Safety Inspector, and Adventurer, will be giving a humorous and entertaining lecture on travel in Alaska. The talk will include Mushing Mishaps, Moose Encounters and Northern Lights. Snacks and Beverages to follow.

Trees” – A Member Exhibition at The London Arts Center

The London Arts Center is proud to present Trees, an upcoming member exhibition celebrating the beauty, symbolism, and inspiration of trees. This open-call show invites our members to share works across a wide range of styles and mediums, each reflecting the powerful presence of trees in nature and art.

This exhibition promises to be a wellspring of inspiration, celebrating the beauty and significance of trees in nature and art. Experience the creativity of our vibrant arts community and discover how trees continue to inspire artists of all kinds.

Slit and Slot Sculpture

Join us for an exciting class designed and taught by Bob Carl, specifically for kids, where we’ll explore the fascinating world of Slit and Slot Sculpture! During this hands-on workshop, students will learn how to create their own unique sculptures using various techniques.

Details:

What to Bring:  Participants are encouraged to bring cardboard tubes, such as paper towel rolls, toilet paper rolls, and any other suitable cardboard materials to incorporate into their sculptures. 

Dates:  The classes will be held on two consecutive Saturdays: July 12 and July 19.

Time:  Each session will run from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, allowing plenty of time for creativity and exploration.

Cost:  The fee for the entire course is just $20, which covers materials provided by the instructor as well.

Come unleash your creativity, have fun, and make new friends while learning the art of sculpture! We can’t wait to see what you’ll create!

Making Trivets from Wine Corks 

Join us for an engaging adult workshop led by Bob Carl, where you will create beautiful trivets from repurposed wine corks! In this hands-on class, you’ll learn the techniques needed to craft unique and functional trivets that add a personal touch to your home decor.

Please note that the Times have changed:

Classes will be held on Thursdays, July 24 and 31, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The cost for this creative experience is just $20.

Bring glue (Titebond Quick and Thick or Fast Setting Gorilla Glue) and a flat tray or old cutting board to work on.

 Don’t miss the chance to unleash your creativity while enjoying a fun and eco-friendly project!

Youth Rock Painting Class

Join us for a creative and fun-filled morning at our Youth Rock Painting Class! 

Date: Saturday, July 26  

Time: 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM  

Cost: $12 for the entire session  

In this class, young artists will have the opportunity to transform smooth river rocks into beautiful pieces of art.

Participants are encouraged to bring a few of their own smooth river rocks to paint.  

All painting supplies, including a variety of paints and brushes, will be provided. No previous painting experience is needed—just bring your imagination and creativity!

We have other areas you may enjoy while in the building including the gallery and gift shop.

EXERCISE YOUR WRITES

We talk Writing and Poetry and Illustration. We share our works in a round table discussion. We also offer monthly prompts to be used to stir our imaginations. Create a Story of approximately 1000 words. Write in any style (poetry, prose) and any genre (Drama, Thriller, Sci-Fi, Comedy, etc.) or create an illustration using the prompts as inspiration. Join us and share your work.

We’re excited to let you know that we’ll be moving our meeting time starting in March to the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. We hope this change makes it easier for more members and guests to join us! It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together, unleash our creativity, and share our love for art in a supportive atmosphere. Looking forward to seeing all of you there!

Coffee and Conversation:

This get together will take place on the 4th Wednesday of the month starting from 1:30 till 3:30. The idea is to break up the week for older adults to talk Art, Quilting, and associated passions.  Join us for a fun filled afternoon of fun filled talks, without the worry of driving at night.

Zart: Classes designed to increase the youth’s knowledge and enjoyment of art.

Home School Classes: Providing art education to supplement the home school student

Open Studio

The LVAG London Arts Center hosts Open Studio every Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm Members, and the public are welcome. Bring your current project or start a new project,. It’s a great time to work and mingle with other artists. 

Memberships

We rely on membership support to offer classes and workshops at reasonable costs. For $2.08 a month, less than the cost of a gas station coffee, you can join in all the fun and help us bring wonderment and joy to our community through art and friendship. 

Memberships make a great gift for birthdays, Christmas, or whatever festive occasion.
