VOULENTEER OF THE YEAR

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to The Madison County Chamber of Commerce for honoring the LVAG with the Volunteer of the Year Award for 2025. This recognition reflects the dedication and hard work of our team and volunteers, who tirelessly contribute their time and effort to our Arts Center and the community. We are deeply appreciative of this acknowledgment and look forward to continuing our mission of service and support in the years to come.

Bob Carl, a retired art teacher, will give the make-it-take-it class on May 3, 2025. The time is 10:30-12:30. Bring a picture of your pet and turn it into a painting. The fee of $18 includes all supplies.

Bob Carl was born in Columbus, Ohio, and has been creating and exhibiting art since his high school days. He earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts at The Ohio State University and a Master of Fine Arts from Ohio University, where he began his teaching career. Bob taught art in several locations, including Columbus, Marietta, and Parkersburg, while also serving as president of the Darby Creek Association, advocating for the protection of local waterways. After teaching art in North Carolina, Tennessee, and South Carolina, he retired in 2021 and returned to Ohio, where he continues to create art, focusing on recycled materials. Additionally, Bob volunteers delivering meals to seniors and working with his church on various projects.

Arts on the Green

The London Visual Arts Guild at 121 East First Street, London, Ohio, invites you to attend a day of arts demonstrations, music, food and fun at “Arts on the Green”, May 17, 2025 (10:00am to 6:00pm).  Arts on the Green features live music with Hillbilly Chic, a “Sheep to Shawl” demonstration to include shearing, carding, and spinning, as well as art sales tents and food trucks. 

We are thrilled to announce the inaugural “Arts on the Green” Festival! Join us for a day filled with creativity and inspiration. This year’s festival will showcase a fascinating “Sheep to Shawl” demonstration, along with a diverse group of talented fabric artists displaying their stunning creations. 

Immerse yourself in live music, delicious offerings from food trucks, and the chance to explore unique artworks from various artists. Plus, don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy captivating displays of history and the arts in our open gallery. 

This event promises to be a delightful experience for the whole family. Come celebrate the magic of art with us at “Arts on the Green”! We can’t wait to see you there!

Ages 10 -13, Class Time 3:30 -4:30

Ages 6-9, Class time 4:30 – 5:30

Early Class for Homeschool (Ages 6 -9) 1:45 – 2:45

Fee is $10 each session – Includes all supplies, just pay when you arrive. Signup deadline is 3 days before class begins

Projects often overlap so it is important to attend all classes. Parking & entrance is located, in the back for the class.

Writers and Illustrators Meeting:

EXERCISE YOUR WRITES

We talk Writing and Poetry and Illustration. We share our works in a round table discussion. We also offer monthly prompts to be used to stir our imaginations. Create a Story of approximately 1000 words. Write in any style (poetry, prose) and any genre (Drama, Thriller, Sci-Fi, Comedy, etc.) or create an illustration using the prompts as inspiration. Join us and share your work.

We’re excited to let you know that we’ll be moving our meeting time starting in March to the third Thursday of each month at 6:00 p.m. We hope this change makes it easier for more members and guests to join us! It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together, unleash our creativity, and share our love for art in a supportive atmosphere. Looking forward to seeing all of you there!

This month’s Writing and Illustration Prompts: War & Uncover

Meeting: 3rd Thursday of the month at 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Coffee and Conversation:

This get together will take place on the 4th Wednesday of the month starting from 1:30 till 3:30. The idea is to break up the week for older adults to talk Art, Quilting, and associated passions.  Join us for a fun filled afternoon of fun filled talks, without the worry of driving at night.

Youth Classes

We offer youth education classes. 

Zart: Classes designed to increase the youth’s knowledge and enjoyment of art.

Home School Classes: Providing art education to supplement the home school student

Open Studio

The LVAG London Arts Center hosts Open Studio every Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm Members, and the public are welcome. Bring your current project or start a new project,. It’s a great time to work and mingle with other artists. 

Memberships

We rely on membership support to offer classes and workshops at reasonable costs. For $2.08 a month, less than the cost of a gas station coffee, you can join in all the fun and help us bring wonderment and joy to our community through art and friendship. 

Memberships make a great gift for birthdays, Christmas, or whatever festive occasion.

The membership basic fee is $25.00 or $50.00 for a family:
