Sonic Sketches
A newly formed music appreciation club had its first meeting last night (Thursday June 15). The clubs purpose is enjoyment and education of music. It’s like an open mic jam. We will post songs before the next meeting so you have time to familiarize yourself with them. Then on meeting night come and jam along. All instruments welcome, all skill level welcome. The purpose is to enjoy and learn in an open welcoming environment. We also welcome spectators who wish to just sit and enjoy the music and fun environment. Its a great place to sit and draw life studies of the musicians performing, learning and talking. The first meeting was a resounding success. We jammed, laughed, sketched and just enjoyed each others company. We also picked a name for the club: SONIC SKETCHES
The basic info:
We meet on the fourth Thursday of the month from 6 – 8 pm
Songs to learn before the next meeting:
“Heart of Gold” Neil Young
“Hang on Sloopy” The McCoys
We’ll also jam in Blues patterns ( i iv v) in various keys and rhythms.
Next Meeting July 27th at 6pm
Dust off those instruments and come jam or just hang out.
