Jim Dawson

Jim Dawson studied photography in the 1960’s while enrolled at the Ohio University School of Fine Arts. He also developed a thorough understanding of photographic concepts through self-study of books by Ansel Adams and other world-class photographers and was mentored in several photography workshops by fine art photographers Howard Bond and Daniel Anderson, who were close friends and protégé’s of Ansel Adams. For the past 30 years he has been photographing landscapes and architectural subjects throughout the United States and teaching darkroom and photographic techniques to beginning photographers. His award-winning photographs have been exhibited at various galleries in Ohio and at art shows in 26 cities throughout the Midwest and his 2007 exhibit at the Springfield Museum of Art in Springfield, Ohio.
