Exhibitor Information/Resources

We suggest you come in to preview the space where your work will be displayed. This will allow you to determine how may pieces will fit and any display props that may be needed. Call Sandy Fox at 937-207-7400 to schedule.

All two-dimensional pieces must be framed and wired for hanging. Gallery wrapped canvas is also permitted. Nails in the wall are not permitted. Three-dimensional art may be displayed on several stands furnished by the LVAG or you can bring your own display props.

Hanging the Art

All exhibits at the London Arts Center open on a Thursday. New shows are hung the Monday evening before the opening. You are encouraged to bring your artwork during regular gallery hours the week prior to the hanging of your show.  If necessary, the work may be brought in by scheduling an appointment at 937-207-7400. A committee will assist you in the hanging of your show on the date scheduled.

All pieces must be labeled with identifying tags with title, date, medium, and price or NFS (not for sale). A list of all artwork and numbered pieces and prices is also acceptable. NOTE: if all artwork is NFS a fee of $100 will be charged to the exhibitor if not a member, $50 if they are a member, to help defray expenses. You must provide a bio page/artist statement that includes information about your art, awards, shows, and what inspires you to create art. Business cards and brochures are recommended. The LVAG can provide graphic designers for a fee if needed.

A limited number of posters will be printed for distribution around the community. You will be responsible for placement of posters, unless other arrangements are made. Your show will be featured on our Website and Facebook page. Low resolution jpeg images of all artwork should be sent to Lori Powell (lpowell.lvag@gmail.com) for web use. The posters are printed on 11×14 poster stock and can be created by you or the LVAG.  Non-members will be charged a setup fee of $50. The LVAG will send an announcement about the show and opening reception out to everyone on the mailing list.

Artist’s Reception

Opening Receptions are scheduled on the Friday after the show opens from 5 to 8 pm. The artist is responsible for providing refreshments. Please contact Lynn Daily at 740-815-1773 for more information.

Exhibit Hours

During the time your art is exhibited, we request that you spend as much time as possible at the gallery during open hours. Visitors to the gallery are more likely to come back to purchase art if the artist is available to discuss their work. We realize it is not always convenient and LVAG members are willing to help. You may also want to invite various groups to see your work at other times besides the reception. To arrange for private showings, please contact Sany Fox at 937-207-7400.

Taking Down the Exhibit

Please be prompt in removing your artwork at the close of your show. Arrangements can be made with Sandy Fox at 937-207-7400. Any artwork not picked up withing two weeks will be subject to sale and the proceeds will go to the LVAG.

Art Sales

The sale of your work is strictly between you and the buyer. You must leave your contact information with the LVAG to facilitate transactions. Gallery docents may accept cash or check payments. Otherwise, the buyer will email or phone you to make arrangements for payment. In general, we recommend that the artwork remain with the exhibit until the show closes, unless other arrangements are made.

The London Visual Arts Guild is a charitable non-profit 501c3 organization. Donations are tax deductible and are greatly appreciated to defray the gallery costs.  A suggested amount is 20% of the art sales. Please note “LVAG exhibitor” on the memo line of a check. Thank you.
